TREE PLANTING ON SCHOOL GROUNDS

Association for Canadian Educational Resources (ACER)

• ACER provides a schoolyard planting and monitoring program called Planting for Change (P4C). Students plant trees and shrubs as part of a living laboratory in their schoolyard and join our P4C monitoring network. Training and equipment is provided by ACER. Each year, students monitor the tree growth to study the impact of climate change on biodiversity. Data is posted online for sharing and comparing.

Credit Valley Conservation (CVC)

• CVC provides advice and resources to schools on native plant gardens, naturalization and storm water management. Assistance with project implementation may be available for some schools which have already obtained board and administrative approvals. For information contact education@creditvalleyca.ca.
